Who Are My Lessons for?

Learners of all ages and abilities, including neurotypical and neurodivergent students, as well as those with physical disabilities.

Everyone is welcome, and lessons are adapted to suit your individual needs and learning style.

Physical Disability

I offer specialised lessons using adaptive equipment to accommodate amputees or learners with limited limb function.

Please note: Permanent wheelchair users unfortunately cannot be accommodated.

Refresher Lessons

Perfect if you haven’t driven in years, have moved to the UK from abroad, or you just want to rebuild confidence.

We will cover the full syllabus accompanied by practice driving tests so that you arrive feeling confident to handle those pre-test nerves!

Neurodivergent and other additional needs

I have extensive experience supporting learners with ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, and anxiety who may benefit from a more personalised approach to driving lessons.

Lessons are carefully adapted to work with each learner’s strengths while building confidence in areas that need improvement. I have received consistently positive feedback from students who value this supportive and tailored teaching style.

Important: October 2026 Changes

Time is ticking!

You have until 1 October 2026 to take advantage of this 22.5 hour block booking package. The package is designed to take you from structured lessons through to test preparation and passing your driving test, including any required resits.

To qualify under the current system, you must have passed your theory test before 1 October 2026. After this date, learners will be subject to the new Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) rules.

Under the new rules, learners will not be able to take their practical driving test until at least six months after passing their theory test.

One advantage of the current system is that learners can also gain motorway driving experience earlier, allowing you to build confidence at full road speeds in a safe and controlled environment.

If you are keen to progress quickly or preparing for an upcoming test, this intensive driving course is designed to help you learn efficiently, build skills faster, and become fully test-ready through structured, focused lessons.

Please note: From October 2026, when the new legislation comes into effect, this option will change.

More details will follow.

Manual Driving Lessons in Belfast

Here at Lou's Learners I specialise in automatic driving lessons in Belfast, however I am also happy to work with learners who want to drive a manual car.

Many learners find it helpful to begin learning in my automatic car first. This allows you to focus on the core driving skills without worrying about gears straight away.

During these early lessons we concentrate on important foundations such as mirror checks, road positioning, and steering control.

Once these skills feel comfortable and natural, we can then move into your own manual car and continue the lessons together while you learn clutch control and gear changes.

This step-by-step approach allows you to build confidence first before adding the extra coordination that comes with driving a manual vehicle.

Every learner is different, so the best approach is to have a quick chat about your experience and what you feel most comfortable with.

If you are looking for manual driving lessons in Belfast, get in touch and we can discuss the best plan to help you progress confidently.
